Chogrin
Chogrin is an Ecuadorian-American illustrator, animator, and storyteller whose work bridges classic animation, pop culture, and Latin American folklore. Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and raised in the U.S., he studied illustration and animation at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, graduating in 2007. His early career included an internship at Cartoon Network Studios in 2006, which was pivotal in shaping his artistic voice.
Chogrin has contributed to acclaimed animated series such as Adventure Time, Regular Show, Close Enough, and Big City Greens. Beyond animation, he is known for curating pop-culture-themed art shows and designing collectible vinyl figures, including tributes like Guru del Toro and Elegorgon for Netflix. He has also created pop culture inspired toys with UVD Toys, Netflix, Culturefly, and Unruly industries.
In 2023, his animated short film Lucky Brave's Sunshine premiered at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF), showcasing his dedication to storytelling that reflects his bicultural heritage.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Chogrin continues to create art that celebrates nostalgia, mythology, and the fusion of diverse cultural influences.
