Pez (born 1976) is a pioneering street artist from Barcelona, Spain. He began his artistic journey in 1999, transitioning from graffiti tags to creating his iconic smiling fish character, symbolizing positivity and joy. This emblematic figure became central to the "Barcelona Happy Style," a movement characterized by vibrant colors and uplifting imagery.
Over the years, Pez's work has graced walls in cities worldwide, including Tokyo, Miami, Bogotá, and London. His art has been featured in prominent street art publications such as Street Logos, Art of Rebellion, and The Mammoth Book of Street Art. Notably, he appeared in the documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop, highlighting his influence in the street art scene.
In 2008, Pez relocated to Bogotá, Colombia, further expanding his artistic reach. His creations, often depicting a range of smiling characters beyond the fish, continue to spread messages of happiness and freedom across the globe
